MAST Asia 2019 early bird delegates increase in both number and diversity

Wed 19 Sep 2018 @ 11:46

Registrations for MAST Asia 2019 (the third edition of Japan’s only international defence trade-show and conference to date) are already higher than for the same period in 2017 (and started much earlier).

Additionally, the domain profile of delegates has expanded beyond naval and air, to include amphibious forces (so far from Japan, Malaysia, and US).

The effect of this growth of participants on total numbers is not yet known, but expected to exceed the 4,300+ received in 2017, and MAST Asia’s organisers plan to host over 300 international VIPs/hosted buyers.

Attending Chiefs of Navy and Airforce and defence ministries’ personnel from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam are expected to join a second edition of the Japan:ASEAN Summit organised on behalf of Japan’s Ministry of Defence/Acquisition Technology and Logistics Agency, which was first held directly after MAST in 2017.

If you want to meet the most senior operators, technologists and policy makers from Japan (and ASEAN nations), MAST is a MUST.

NEW! US pavilion at MAST Asia 2019

Wed 19 Sep 2018 @ 11:45

Visitors to any previous edition of MAST Asia in Japan have already noticed the major level of support for MAST Asia – in both trade-show and conference – from US government organisations (US Navy, NAVSEA, NSWC, NUWC, Office of Naval Research, ONR Global, International Programs Office) and industry (Boeing, Brunswick, Esri, FLIR, GE Aviation, GE Marine, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems, Kigre, L-3 Keo, Linden Photonics, Liquid Robotics, Lockheed Martin, R2 Sonic, Rockwell Collins, Sound Metrics, Teledyne Webb, Textron/Bell Helicopter, Torrey Pines Logic).

MAST Asia 2019 is expected to see even more US companies, particularly MSMEs, signing up due to the announcement of a US Pavilion.

The US Pavilion will help many companies – typically unable to afford a stand-alone booth of their own in major international trade-shows – to join a national cluster, with its own hospitality area, to meet the most senior-level specifiers and decision-makers from navy, airforce, government ministries and research facilities from Japan (and ASEAN countries).

Other international MSMEs interested in joining other MAST Asia country pavilions (or booking a reduced rate package in the MAST Asia Maritime MSME Zone or Aerospace MSME Zone) should contact the organiser direct for information on partnering with the France, Israel, Italy, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, or UK Pavilions.

German companies should contact Nico Baumbach, Managing Director, CCO Creative Consulting GmbH via email ([email protected]) or phone: +49 89 9009 833 / +49 175 4114 719.

“Make in India” makeover for MAST Indo-Asia 2018!

Mon 17 Sep 2018 @ 10:29

Ministry of Defence – Government of India

The full support of both Nirmala Sitharaman, Defence Minister and Ashok Kumar Gupta Takes, Secretary, Defence Production, has formally been granted to MAST Indo-Asia’s organisers (FICCI, Indian Maritime Foundation, and MAST Communications), issuing letters of support/request full participation by exhibitors/authors (international and domestic) wishing to take part in upcoming naval defence procurement programmes in India.

Both Nirmala Sitharaman and Ashok Kumar Gupta Takes will take part in plenary sessions relating to international collaborations, heavily based on the Make in India principal (well known to any organisation doing/prospecting defence business in India), and they will visit those major sponsors/exhibitors with platforms, systems, and technologies competing for future Indian Navy contracts.

Similarly endorsed, Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of Navy Staff, Indian Navy (and other key naval personnel), senior level representatives from India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Indian Maritime Foundation, will send conference delegates and visitors daily to meet exhibitors/authors, and meet their counterpart global operators, technologists, and procurement experts.

Prospective delegates to November’s conference in Delhi should sign up now to benefit from the pre-show discount. Limited exhibition space and sponsorships are available to late-comers!

We are delighted to announce the Chairman for MAST Northern Coasts 2019 (4th–6th September 2019): Admiral Tim Sloth Jørgensen, currently Chief Strategy Officer, CSO, Terma Defense & Security and former Chief of Denmark's Defence staff, and the ideal interface into both government/military and industry, not only in Denmark, but throughout Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

NATO's Northern Coasts 2019 training operations are expected to be the largest in nearly two decades, and we are delighted to be working closely with the participating navies to make many of the expected 45 units available for delegate to visit (in conjunction with specific conference sessions e.g MCM and ASW), and exhibitors displays.

The level of participation will be boosted considerably with over 4,000 sailors expected to join the event, and additionally we are delighted that the pre-sail briefing will form one of our plenary sessions, open to all to attend.
